Budget friendly beading to pair perfectly with our Laminate flooring.
When fitting laminate flooring, you have to remember to leave a small expansion gap at the edge of your room, to allow the flooring to breathe, expand and contract. It may not be 100% 'real' wood board flooring, but it behaves in just the same way and needs the same consideration.
If you're replacing your skirting board along with your flooring, you can adjust and install the new skirting to cover this expansion gap. However, when retrofitting to a previously carpeted or tiled flooring, unless you can tuck it under kitchen kickplates or slide under suspiciously high skirting, you'll need to cover the gap... for one of two reasons.
Reason 1: The Gap becomes a Trap.
This expansion gap creates the issue that you have an absolutely fantastic channel for trapping small objects, dust and bits and bobs that fall out of your pockets. We've found a good few £s hidden in these gaps over the years!
Reason 2: The Vile looking Void
We'd hazard a guess that having a miniature canyon running around your room is not quite the look you're going for. Even before it's filled with fluff, coins and jelly beans (just us? okay!) It's not exactly the nicest looking thing.
Solution? Match your chosen floor to our beading range. We've multiple shades to choose from that will match your new laminate or create a contrasting effect around the edge of your room, matching cabinets or skirtings.
