Why buy new gripper?

We recommend purchasing new gripper every time you replace your carpet. Why do that? We hear you, it's an additional expense and nobody wants those. The reason we say this is purely because your gripper doesn't last forever. It can crush, losing you hooks, which can blunt over time. Gripper strips are made to dig in and hold your carpet, keeping it steady day to day. What you don't want is your beautiful new carpet not correctly secured and when you move either yourselves or furniture around the room. Even worse than that is the carpet ripping or tearing at the edges due to it not being fixed properly. It's not commonplace, however we just don't consider it a risk worth taking. 

Options & making the right choice

Easily cut to length to adapt to your space, we always recommend purchasing more strips than you think you need, to ensure that you don't end up with any gaps and can easily fit it around challenging spaces and trim to fit. 

The Dual Purpose Gripper is designed to fit easily into both wood flooring and hard concrete flooring, thanks to specially designed nails in the underside, fitted to ensure a solid adhesion to any kind of flooring. This makes it a great cost-effective option for people fitting carpet to multiple rooms and flooring types in their homes.

Wood Gripper is also available, if you'd rather fit specific grip strips designed for just wood floors and don't have the need for multi-purpose strips.

We also offer Concrete Gripper for those only installing into solid concrete/cement type floors or those with levelling compound on.
