Weave Type

Loop Pile Carpet

Loop pile carpets are made of tightly woven, densely packed fibers that are more durable than cut pile carpets.

They can withstand heavy foot traffic and are often used in commercial or rental properties and high-traffic areas such as hallways or living rooms due to the constant walking in and out and those often used pathways and standing points, like that spot in front of your sofa!

A great insulator, they're brilliant at muffling sounds, cutting down on stomps and booms from energetic individuals and keeping your home warm and cosy, cutting down on heating bills.

The looped pile structure of loop pile carpets means that spills sit on top, giving you time to clean them up before they soak into the fibers. Loop pile carpets are easier to clean than cut pile carpets, and regular maintenance can help them look good for longer.

Material Type

Polypropylene Carpet

Polypropylene is a synthetic fiber that lends itself perfectly to carpets due to its exceptional performance characteristics: Durability, Stain Resistance, Affordability, and Low Maintenance.

Durability: Polypropylene fibers are inherently strong and resilient, making them highly resistant to wear and tear. They can withstand heavy wear, making them ideal for high-traffic areas such as living rooms, hallways, and bedrooms. Polypropylene carpets are less prone to matting and pilling, ensuring a long-lasting and attractive appearance.

Stain Resistance: A practical choice for households with children or pets. The fibers have a non-absorbent nature, preventing spills from penetrating deeply into the carpet. It's easy to clean up stains with a simple spot treatment, reducing the risk of permanent stains.

Affordability: Generally more affordable than other carpet materials, such as wool, they are an attractive option for those looking to save money without compromising on quality.

Low Maintenance: Typically resistant to dirt and dust, you need to vacuum less. Due to the aforementioned stain-resistant nature, regular vacuuming and occasional spot cleaning are usually sufficient to keep polypropylene carpets looking their best.

Backing Type

Woven Backing

Woven Back Carpets are a type of carpet that features a primary backing woven directly into the carpet pile, eliminating the need for a secondary backing (like hessian or felt).

This construction method offers several advantages: Woven back carpets are known for their strength and longevity, making them suitable for high-traffic areas like living rooms, hallways, and dining rooms.

The woven backing provides flexibility, allowing the carpet to conform to uneven surfaces and making it easier to install.

Without a separate backing, woven back carpets are generally lighter than traditional carpets, which can make them easier to handle. The simplified construction process can often result in a lower cost compared to carpets with a secondary backing.

They still require a good quality underlay to provide additional cushioning, insulation, and protection, so don't forget to check out our Underlay collection and ensure you pick one to complement your carpet.
