Sumptuous Saxony by Vanguard

There are carpets you walk on, and then there are carpets you sink into. Sumptuous Saxony belongs firmly in the latter category. Crafted to achieve an elite LC5 Luxury Rating, this collection features a massive 1800g/m² pile weight, providing a deep, cushioned surface that transforms a standard room into a high-end retreat.

The standout feature here is the precision 1/12" gauge. By using a finer needle pitch than standard 1/8" or 1/10" carpets, Vanguard has packed more individual fibers into every square inch. This results in a pile that feels extraordinarily full and rich, minimizing the "separation" often seen in deep-pile Saxonies and ensuring a uniform, velvety finish.

Why Sumptuous Saxony is the Ultimate Indulgence

• The 1/12" Precision Advantage: While many deep piles feel "loose," the 1/12" gauge ensures this 13.5mm pile remains dense and upright. It creates a seamless, high-definition surface that feels significantly more substantial underfoot.

• Heavyweight Comfort: At 1800g/m², this is one of the heaviest piles in the Vanguard portfolio. It is designed to provide maximum impact noise reduction and thermal insulation, making it the perfect choice for master bedrooms and upper-floor lounges.

• The High-Performance Fiber: Woven from 100% Polypropylene, Sumptuous Saxony offers the look of a luxury silk or wool blend with none of the maintenance anxiety. It is fully bleach-cleanable and moth-proof, ensuring your sanctuary stays pristine.

• Professional Foundation: Featuring a robust Secondary Backing, this carpet is designed for a traditional stretch-fit installation. This provides the structural tension needed to support such a heavy pile weight, ensuring your floor remains taut and beautiful for years.

The Palette: Defining Your Sanctuary

The Sumptuous Saxony color story is one of refined elegance, focusing on "The New Neutrals" that bridge the gap between organic earth tones and modern mineral greys.

• The Misty Horizon (Greys): For a cool, calming aesthetic, Silver Mist, Gull Grey, and Pumice Grey offer light, airy foundations. For a deeper, more executive feel, Slate Grey, Smoke Grey, and the dramatic Bedrock provide sophisticated monochromatic anchors.

• The Earthy Retreat (Beiges and Browns): If you want to create a warm, inviting atmosphere, look to Cream, Beige, and Sand Dune. These shades, along with the richer Fudge, Mink, and Rich Earth, provide a toasted warmth that makes large rooms feel intimate and cozy.

• The Ethereal Glow: Fossil and Truffle offer a whisper of color that acts as the perfect blank canvas for high-end furniture and textured fabrics, reflecting light beautifully across the 13.5mm pile.

Expert Guidance: Installation and Suitability

To get the most out of your Sumptuous Saxony installation, we recommend the following:

• Placement Strategy: With its General Domestic rating and LC5 comfort, this is the ultimate "bedroom carpet." It is also fully suitable for lounges where comfort is the primary objective.

• Thermal Performance: With a 1.8 TOG rating, this carpet is an incredible insulator. It is underfloor suitable, but it excels in homes where you want to trap heat and create a cozy, energy-efficient environment during the colder months.

• The Underlay Imperative: To truly activate the "Sumptuous" feel, this carpet must be paired with a high-quality, high-density 11mm or 12mm underlay. This supports the 1/12" gauge fibers and ensures the 1800g pile weight performs at its peak for the duration of your 7-year warranty.
